A heat and pressure transfer comprises a carrier sheet, a release layer, a lacquer layer, a design layer, a metal layer and an adhesive layer. The adhesive may be heat or solvent activable and the carrier sheet may be of polyethylene terephthalate or nylon. The release layer may be a heat-softenable wax-based composition including rubber. The lacquer may be based on nitrocellulose or methyl methacrylate or phenolic resin or epoxy resin. The ink is based on a resin and a pigment and the metal may be antimony, aluminium or gold. In an alternative arrangement the release and lacquer layers may be combined.
