Zusammenfassung: | 1,216,785. Titanic acid esters. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. 27 March, 1969 [28 March, 1968], No. 16238/69. Heading C2C. Titanic acid esters are prepared by reacting a titanium tetrahalide or titanic acid ester halide containing a lower proportion of ester groups than the ester to be produced with an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or araliphatic alcohol, phenol or an alkyl-substituted phenol, or an enol, in the presence of a tertiary amine and/or an N-containing heterocyclic compound of aromatic character and/or an acid amide which is optionally N- mono- or di-substituted as catalyst, at 50 to 250 C. Preferably the reaction is conducted at 50-200 C. at atmospheric pressure in an inert solvent using 0À01-20 mol. per cent of catalyst based on the titanium halide or ester reactant. Amongst the examples TiCl 4 is reacted with (1) n-butanol with formamide, as catalyst, to give TiCl- (OC 4 H 9 ) 3 ; and (2) cresol with N,N-dimethylamino-p-nitrobenzene, as catalyst, to give tetracresyl titanate. |
