A track element comprises a cladding strip 1 including upstanding flanges la integral therewith to act as tracks for sliding doors 3 and also including depending ribbed flanges 1b having a barbed profile in transverse cross-section for anchoring the cladding strip 1 in slots 2a in a wooden base member 2. The cladding strip 1 is of L-section adapted to fit over the front vertical and upper horizontal sides of the base member 2, for example of a cupboard which member is of generally rectangular cross-section. The track element as a whole may be made from synthetic plastics material extruded in the requisite profile.
