[Also in Divisions A5 and C2] Organotin compounds of the formula wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are alkyl or aryl groups, X is oxygen or sulphur, Y is nitrogen or phosphorus, R 4 and R 5 are substitued or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl groups n is 1, 2, 3 or 4 and R 6 and R 7 are hydrogen atoms or alkyl or aryl groups, are used to protect seeds from fungi. In Example 8 the compounds are subjected to the spore germination test according to Gassner (Phytopathologische Zeitschrift XIV (1944), p.303), on Tilletia tritici.
