Apparatus for the slip-casting of washstands &c. includes a track along which moulds are conveyed on carriages in close succession, there being arranged adjacent the track a mould filling device, a device for draining surplus slip from the moulds, and a device for inverting the moulds to discharge the products on to a table. Each carriage and mould is slightly inclined sideways and forwards, and on reaching the draining station a mould plug is extracted by its engagement with a stationary member carried by a spring-loaded linkage. At the discharge station each carriage is brought to a horizontal position before the mould is lifted and tilted by an apparatus including a framework supporting a trolley carrying a lifting and tilting device.
