Zusammenfassung: | 1,201,902. Electrophoretic coating. PRESSED STEEL FISHER Ltd. Oct.17, 1967 [Aug. 17, 1966] No.36838/66. Heading C7B. One or more coats are applied to a metal article by immersing the article to be coated in an aqueous coating medium which includes a film forming material and particles of an additive encapsulated in a water impervious substance inert to the medium and capable of dissipation and deposition, electro-depositing the film forming material with the encapsulated additive, and then dissipating the substance e.g. by heating or chemical action. The substance is preferably a further film-forming material such as polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl chloride or acetate. The additive may comprise particles of an electrically conductive material e.g. Zn, a pigment or corrosion inhibitor e.g. ZnCrO4 or SrCrO4. Dissipating the substance by heat to release the additive may also effect stoving of the film-forming material in the coating medium. |
