A shipping fever vaccine composition comprises a mixture of inactivated cultures of Myxovirus parainfluenza-3, Pasteurella multocida and pasteurella hemolytica a parenterally acceptable antiseptic in a bacteriostatic and fungistatic amount and an amount of an aluminium ion adjuvant comprising aluminium hydroxide gel, aluminium oxide dispersion or aluminium phosphate which is chemically equivalent to an aluminium ion concentration of from 10-50 ml. of an aqueous 1.3% by weight Al 2 O 3 per 100 ml. of the cultures, the mixture having a density of from 5-10 times the optical density of McFarland tube number one on the McFarland test method sale.
