Mixing apparatus comprises a tank 1 having an inlet 2 and an outlet 3 and connected to pulsating chambers 5 by means of nozzles 4 so arranged that, when the tank contains reagents and the pulsation chambers are connected to a source of pulsating pressure, some of the nozzles direct reagents from the pulsation chambers into the tank so as to impart to the reagents therein a rotary motion about axis A-A and the others direct reagents towards axis A-A. The nozzles may be arranged so as to direct reagents downwards at an acute angle α to axis A-A and may be disposed in rows about the periphery of the tank. The apparatus may be used for mixing liquid reagents as well as liquid and solid reagents.
