[Also in Division G1] A device for monitoring a water cooled furnace part comprises a vessel 1 connected to the coolant outlet end divided by a partition 6 into two chambers connected by a space 10 above the partition and an auxiliary chamber 9 at the side of the vessel separated by partitions from the coolant drainage pipes, the pressure in the space 10 giving an indication of the condition of the cooled part. The partitions 16 separating the chamber 9 from the outlets 14 are of less height than the partition 6. A sludge trap 17 and drainage taps 19, 20 are provided below the vessel 1.
