Sheets 4 are conveyed by conveyer belts 2 over a feed table 1 up to front stops on slower moving belt 5 and are simultaneously laterally aligned by grippers 8 on conveyer 12 which moves at the same speed as conveyer 5. The registered sheets are gripped at their front edges by grippers 13 on drum 14, accelerated to the speed of the machine being fed and then taken over by grippers 15 on transfer drum 16. Cam 10 acts on double lever 9 to align the sheets laterally.
