Zusammenfassung: | 1,181,485. Phosphine complexes with platinum and palladium. BRITISH PETROLEUM CO. Ltd. 31 Dec., 1968 [28 Feb., 1968], No. 9652/68. Heading C2C. A process for the production of an organic complex of palladium or platinum in the zerovalent state comprises reacting a stable compound of divalent palladium or platinum with a tertiary phosphine and hydrogen in the presence of an inert organic solvent. Specified palladium or platinum starting materials are M(Ph 3 P) 2 X 2 , M(NH 3 ) 2 X 2 , M(pyridine) 2 X 2 (where M = Pd or Pt, X is Cl, Br or I), and carboxylates. Preferred phosphines are aromatic, tertiary mono-phosphines, and suitable solvents are aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, carboxylic acids and alcohols. It is preferred to use an atomic ratio of phosphorus to Pt or Pd of at least 3 : 1, a hydrogen pressure of 1 to 150 atmospheres and a temperature of 50‹ to 100‹ C. |
