[Also in Divisions C2 and C4] Pharmaceutical preparations which are antagonists of serotonin contain as active ingredient compounds I (including salts thereof) wherein B is an unsubstituted or substituted benzo ring (substituents include, e.g. CN, NO 2 , CF 3 , halogen, amino, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkynyloxy, acyl and alkyl, alkenyl and alkynyl optionally substituted by OH, alkoxy, aryl or halogen), Y is H, alkyl, acyl or the group Z and Z signifies A.CH 2 NR1R2 wherein A is keto or methylene which may be substituted by OH or halogen and R1 and R2 signify H or alkyl (may be unsaturated by one or more double or triple bonds and may be substituted by OH, halogen, mercapto or aryl) but R2 is not a 3- or 4- carbon unsubstituted alkyl when R1 is hydrogen A is hydroxymethylene, Y is hydrogen and B is an unsubstituted or monochlorosubstituted benzene ring, or R1 and R2 together with the adjacent nitrogen form a heterocycle optionally containing one or more other hetero atoms. Administration is orally, rectally, topically, parenterally or by continuous or discontinuous intra-arterial infusion.
