Zusammenfassung: | 1,172,300. Combustion chambers. DAIMLER-BENZ A. G. Dec. 28, 1967, No. 58800/67. Heading F1B. In a spark ignition I. C. engine with rotation of the fresh charge of fuel-air mixture or air about the cylinder axis which causes the residual gas to collect near the cylinder axis, the residual gas is introduced into a chamber, e. g. a chamber 23 in the piston 12, towards the end of the compression stroke and the fresh charge is displaced into one or more combustion chambers 16, 17. The combustion chambers are disposed eccentrically to the cylinder axis and are substantially separated in the T. D. C. position of the piston from the residual gas chamber 23 by a wall 24, 25 surrounding the chamber. The axes of the overhead valves may be inclined. The charge rotation may be produced by guidance in the induction passage or port. Fuel may be injected directly into the combustion chambers. |
