Zusammenfassung: | 1,171,504. Rolling. INSTITUT CHERNOI METALLURGII. 28 June, 1967, No. 29746/67. Heading B3M. [Also in Division G3] The tension in a rolled product is automatically kept constant between adjacent stands of a rolling mill by controlling the drive of one stand in response to the difference between the measured tension of the product and a reference tension, the vertical slack of the product between the stands giving a measure of the tension. The vibration frequency of the product may additionally be used to indicate the tension. A slack position detector 1 is initially connected by a switch 3 through a follow-up and memory unit 4, and when a slack value corresponding to a desired tension is obtained, an operator switches the detector through a comparator 5, the unit 4 then retaining the slack value as a reference. Any subsequent difference between a measured slackness and the reference is used to control the drive of one stand of the mill in a sense to decrease the difference. The detector 1 can also carry information relating to the vibration frequency of the product in a vertical plane and this information can be used in a similar manner to first obtain a reference value and then, after switching, to control the speed of a mill stand. |
