In a cap-sealed bottle the bottle 2 has a shoulder 6, and a neck 7, the bottle and shoulder being elliptical or oblong in plan, the neck being circular in plan, and the shape of the shoulder being such that it has a convex surface along any vertical plane parallel to the minor axis of the elliptical or oblong plan. The resilient plastics cap, which has a cross-sectional plan conforming to the shape of the bottle, includes a skirt 4, a cylindrical plug 20, and a cylindrical skirt 21 having a bead 22 which forms a snap-fit over a flange 8 on the bottle neck. The cap is also provided with at least one rib 15, 16 having an inverted cut-out V-section so that to remove the cap from the bottle, the cap is twisted in either direction and the portions 17, 18 of the V-section cam on the convex surface of the shoulder 6 to raise the cap and release the snapfitting skirt 21. |
