Sieves with compound motion.-The sieve boxes 15a, 15, carry arms 13, 14 which engage crankpins diametrically opposite to each other on a rotating shaft 17. On stationary spindles 16a, 16b, one on each side of the shaft are pivoted levers 8, 18 each coupled at one end to one box and at the other to the other box. The arrangement provides that the boxes while moving in circular paths move together and apart parallel to themselves. The invention may be embodied in a freely oscillating plansifter.
