[Also in Divisions B2 and C3] Primer compositions for coating surfaces with silicone rubbers comprise compounds of the general formula (RO) n Si(OOCR1) 4-n wherein R is an aliphatic radical of 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a phenyl radical, R1 is an aliphatic radical of 1 to 3 carbon atoms and n is 1 or 2 dissolved in an organic solvent, e.g. methylene chloride or toluene in 2 to 20% amounts by volume. Preferred compounds are diisopropoxydiacetoxysilane, diphenoxydiacetoxysilane, diethoxydiacetoxysilane, di - n - propoxydiacetoxysilane and diamyloxydiacetoxysilane. The solutions may be applied by e.g. brushing, dipping or spraying.
