Zusammenfassung: | 115,938. Newton, P. A., (Soc. Anon. Brevetti Belloni). June 23, 1917. Submarine vessels. - A diver's emerging chamber in a submarine vessel consists of two compartments A, B arranged in the form of an elbow tube and separated by a water-tight bulkhead L fitted with a scuttle D. The compartment A into which the diver enters from the submarine is filled with air under pressure sufficient to exclude water when the scuttle D is opened. The compartment B communicates with the sea through an opening in a plane at about 90 degrees to the plane of the scuttle. The opening is covered under normal conditions by a grating C. A second water compartment may be arranged above the air compartment. The air compartment may extend right across the vessel and open into another water compartment on the other side. |
