A hollow article e.g. a container, is moulded by coating the inside surface of a hollow mould twice e.g. by the compound rotational casting of a polythene powder, a part of the first coating being removed before application of the second coating. The mould 2 has a closure plug 3 which is withdrawn after application of the first coating 5 to remove part thereof. The plug is cleaned and replaced or a similar plug is inserted after heating and coating if necessary, to close the mould before application of the second coating 6 whereby a window is formed in the container. The first charge of polythene powder may be mixed with a pigment e.g. carbon black.
