Process for production of Substituted 1.2.4-Triazoles

Heading C2C. 3-Substituted or 3,5-disubstituted, 1,2,4- triazoles wherein the substituents are amino, alkylamino, arylamino, aralkylamino, allylamino, hydrazino, hydroxy, alkoxy, aryloxy, cyano, thiocyano, mercapto, alkyl mercapto, aryl mercapto or aralkyl mercapto are prepared by reacting a 1,2,4-triazole substituted by halogen in the 3-position or 3,5-positions with a nucleophilic reagent containing one of the substituent groups at a temperature between 100‹ and 270‹ C. The reaction may be carried out in the presence of a solvent and/or a catalyst.
