Zusammenfassung: | 1,156,234. Cigarette-making machines. BRITISH-AMERICAN TOBACCO CO. Ltd. 9 Jan., 1968 [13 Jan., 1967; 21 Feb., 1967], Nos. 2005/67 and 8126/67. Heading A2C. In a garniture for replaceably mounting in a machine for producing a wrapped rod of cigarette tobacco or of smoke filtering material, wherein the tongue 1, short folder 2 and long folder 3 are mounted upon a common base 4 in relation to which base their horizontal positions in the longitudinal and transverse directions are preset accurately, the position in the vertical direction of the long folder 3 and preferably also the tongue 1 is made readily adjustable by calibrated adjustment means. Tongue assembly 1. A bracket 8 carries the tongue-piece proper 9 and a block 10 to which the bracket 8 is secured in a fixed relative preset horizontal position thereto by screws 11. The block 10 includes a keyway 12 that horizontally locates it with keys (13) in a slot (14) of a wedge shaped plate 15. The plate 15 is fixed to a plate 16, both plates being permanently located horizontally, with relation to the base 4, by dowels. A toggle clamp 28 secures the tongue assembly 1 to the base 4. Vertical adjustment of the tongue 9 is effected by transverse sliding of a spring loaded wedge 18 over the plate 15 under the action of eccentrics 20, A shaft 21, that carries the eccentrics 20, is rotatable by a calibrated knob 26. Short folder assembly 2. Preset vertical adjustment of the short folder 2 is provided by mounting it above a replaceable dowel-located wedge 30 selected from a number of such wedges 30 of the same slope but of different thicknesses. Long folder assembly 3. Vertical adjustment of the long folder proper 33, against spring loading, is provided by turning a calibrated knob 47 fixed to a shaft 43 that bears fine eccentrics 42. The eccentrics 42 act on brackets 45 to which the long folder 37 is mounted in a preset horizontal position. The shaft 43 is carried by supporting parts 44 of a mounting structure replaceably secured to the base plate 4 by a toggle clamp 49. The setting of the knob 47 may be locked by a clamp screw 48 acting on the opposite end of the shaft 43. |
