Zusammenfassung: | 1,155,552. Aqueous styrene polymer compositions. GEIGY (U.K.) Ltd. 6 April, 1967 [14 April, 1966], No. 16308/66. Heading C3P. [Also in Division D1] A composition for application to a fibre or fibre assembly comprises a storage-stable aqueous shampoo concentrate, a stabilized aqueous non-film-forming dispersion of a styrene polymer of particle diameter 0À01-2À0 microns, and water. In examples (1) styrene was polymerized in an aq. mixture of potassium persulphate, sodium N-lauroyl sarcosinate and caustic soda and mixed with shampoo concentrate comprising an aq. mixture of sodium lauryl sulphate and sodium N-lauroyl sarcosinate and water; (2) as (1) but polymerizing the styrene in the presence of sodium dodecyl oxydibenzene disulphonate; (3) styrene and divinyl benzene were polymerized in an aq. mixture of potassium persulphate, a sulphated alkyl phenoxy polyethoxy ethanol and ethylene oxide/n-octyl phenol condensated and then mixed as in (1); (4) the shampoo concentrate used was an aq. mixture of sodium lauryl sulphate, lauroyl mono-isopropanolamide and isopropanol; (5) styrene was polymerized in an aq. mixture of ammonium persulphate and polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate; and (6) the polymerization catalyst was a mixture of ferric chloride and hydrogen peroxide, and the shampoo concentrate was an aq. mixture of lithium lauryl sulphate, lauryl mono-isopropanolamide and formalin. |
