Thermostatic Immersion Heater

A thermostatic immersion heater for heating fluid in a tank 10 comprises a support plate 11 from one side of which project a temperature sensing device 15 and a heating coil tube or one or more U-tubes 12 through which a heating fluid, e.g. steam, passes and on the other side of the plate a heating fluid delivery pipe 13 has intercalated therein a thermostatic valve 14 operatively connected to the device 15. The support plate 11 is connected to an annular flange 28 on the tank by bolts 16 so as to allow the heating coil or the like and the device 15 to project into the tank. The free end of the or each heating tube has an inlet connected by a pipe union to the pipe 13 and an outlet connected by a union to a return conduit of the pipe.
