Novel compounds of the Formula I where W represents where T is -H, -CH 3 , -C 2 H 5 or a halogen atom, or where Z is a halogen atom or -C 2 H 5 , X represents -(CH 2 ) n- , where n = 2 or 3, or Y represents -CH 2 -CH 2 - or and R represents -H or -CH 3 and acid addition salts thereof are prepared by reacting an acid addition salt of an imidate ester of the formula W.(CH 2 ) n .C(= NH).OR 2 , where R 2 represents a lower alkyl radical containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, with an alkylene diamine H 2 N-Y-NH.R, W, n, Y and R being as defined above and X represents -(CH 2 ) n -. Compounds of Formula I in which X represents -CH=CH- are prepared by reacting a thiophencarboxaldehyde, W.CHO, with a 2-methyl- #2-imidazoline or -tetrahydropyrimidine. Pharmaceutical compositions containing compounds of Formula I have anthelminthic activity and are administered as solutions, in admixture with feed or mineral supplements or in the form of tablets, boluses or capsules.
