Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,138,563. Electro-plating non-ferrous metal strip. SPETSIALNOE KONSTRUKTORSKOE BJURO TYAZHELICH TSVETNIKH METALLOV. Jan.6, 1966, No.604/66. Heading C7B. Non-ferrous metal is electro-plated on to a non-ferrous metal foil or band 3 by passing the foil or band consecutively around upper and lower rollers 3, 4 the lower rollers being immersed in an electro-plating bath in a tank 1, and flat-faced anodes 5 are disposed in the bath on both sides of the foil or band with their flat-faces substantially parallel to the foil or band and are supported by current-carrying detachable suspension means 6 on bus-bars 7 extending across the bath at an acute angle to the plane of the foil or band, the anodes being moved laterally along the bus-bars as the anodes dissolve during electro-plating to keep their spacing from the foil or band substantially constant. Preferably the upper rollers carry current and the lower rollers are of dielectric material, electrolyte and/or air is fed into the bath by means of bubblers 10,11 arranged between the anodes and the bubblers 11 are adapted to form a collecting chute for anode slimes, while the margins of the foil or band are embraced by laterally movable hollow buoyant screens of dielectric material (see Fig. 2, not shown). The lower ends of the anodes touch guides 8 of dielectric material parallel to the bus-bars across the band at the same angle to the band of foil 9.
