Zusammenfassung: | 113,478. Johnston, A. G. Kent-. Feb. 21, 1917. Addition to 102,536. Impact pulverizers; cracking nuts.-The machine described in the parent Specification is modified by providing a centrifugal throwing-device and a circumscribing series of moving beaters, the space between the beaters and the throwing-device being greater than the size of the nuts. In the machine shown, the throwing-device a and a ring of beaters b are rotated in opposite directions. The device a consists of a vertical drum provided with a diametrical passage a which is open at the ends a and communicates through a tube c with the hopper. The beaters b are secured to a disk b and are arranged to throw the broken nuts outwards. The beaters consist of angle-members b and are secured to the disk by screws b . A fan-casing f, provided with a discharge-opening for the nuts, is arranged around the beaters. The throwing-device is secured to a shaft d provided with a fast bevelwheel g and a loose bevel-device i which is secured to the disk b. A shaft t driven by a hand-crank r is geared through a countershaft o with a bevelwheel k which gears with the wheels i, g. The machine may be driven by power. The axis of the throwing-device and the disk b may be vertical or inclined. |
