Extincteurs.-In an extincteur of the kind in which a vessel containing sulphuric acid is mounted within the casing in such a position that it may be broken by means of a plunger, an additional closed receptacle is provided containing carbon tetrachloride so arranged that the two receptacles are simultaneously broken, carbon tetrachloride being thus discharged with the carbonic acid and water. In the form shown, two glass receptacles a, b are mounted within the perforated container c in the extincteur and contain sulphuric acid and carbon tetrachloride respectively, and are simultaneously broken by the plunger d. |
