A zoom lens comprises, from the front, a positive focusing lens block a movable negative lens block, a movable positive lens block and a fixed lens block, the two middle blocks being movable in opposite directions to vary the magnification of the system and the movable positive lens block including two front singlets and a cemented lens group of at least two lenses wherein the foremost singlet has |R 11 | < |R 12 |. Preferably the second singlet has |R 13 |
