[Also in Division H2] A D.C. to D.C. converter having a stabilized output comprises: a low voltage D.C. source fed to an oscillator via a regulator; a step-up transformer connected to the output of the oscillator; a rectifier circuit connected to the transformer secondary; and a feedback path including a gas discharge tube connected between the D.C. output circuit and the regulator . The regulator Fig. 3 (not shown) comprises a number of emitter follower stages, the conductivity of which is controlled by the signal fed back from the output so that any reduction in D.C. output produces a compensation rise in D.C. input to the oscillator.
