Legs 3 for supporting a marine structure consisting of a platform 1 and derrick 2, are each provided with a substantially flat element 9 of negative buoyancy having an opening through which the leg passes and each element 9 is freely displaceable along its respective leg over at least part of the length of the leg. The elements have no fixed connection with the legs 3 and they may be metal plates of circular or other configurations. They prevent the legs from being non- uniformly loaded by the action of even strong currents round the base of the legs.
