Zusammenfassung: | 1,099,363. Compression moulding. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. Sept. 17, 1964 [Sept. 24, 1963], No. 37559/63. Heading B5A. In a compression moulding apparatus e.g. for moulding reinforced sealing members, in which there are a plurality of moulds which are successively moved through loading, compression and unloading stations, the compression is divided between two stations at the second of which the pressure is increased. A breathing station may be located between the two compression stations. As described the apparatus comprises a rotary table carrying ten moulds each comprising upper and lower die members 14 and 2. The dies are loaded successively at a loading station with an uncured rubber blank 1 and a metal insert. The table is indexed to a first compression station at which is located a low pressure pump 5 which supplies the piston chamber 12 with fluid at a pressure determined by a relief valve 15. At the next station a cam roller acts on a valve 11 to allow escape of some fluid for " breathing ". At the second compression moulding station further compression is effected by fluid from a high pressure pump 22 the supply pressure of which is determined by a relief valve 23. The table then indexes to an unloading station. |
