Zusammenfassung: | The process of the parent Specification for removing metallic contaminants from a cracking catalyst comprising SiO2 and one or more of Al2O3, MgO and ZrO2 and free from hydrogenating components susceptible to removal by chlorination, by contacting the catalyst at 350-600 DEG C. simultaneously with water-vapour and the vapour of a compound of general formula C.Cl2.XY where X and Y may be the same or different and selected from H, Cl, Br and F or where X and Y together may be O, is modified in that the catalyst is subsequently subjected to water-vapour alone at 350-600 DEG C. Comparative examples demonstrate the efficacy of the process of the invention against the Parent Specification and the prior art. |
