Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,078,868. Heat exchange blocks. D. SCHWEMANN, W. ALTHOFF, and G. F. ALTHOFF. Nov. 12, 1964, No. 46108/64. Heading F4S. A heat exchange column comprises graphite blocks having channels, conveying two heat exchange media, passing behind one another, each block has a diversion element which diverts one group of channels in a direction parallel to the other group of channels. One embodiment, Fig. 1, comprises two parts 1, 2 having vertical channels 4 and horizontal channels 6, the channels 6 opening into a bore 10 to direct the flow parallel to the channels 4. The column may be built up of circular cross-section blocks, Figs. 2 and 3 (notshown), horizontal channels extending from a plane face at a distance from the axis of the cylindrical block to open into peripheral diversion chambers. The cylindrical heat exchanger may be constructed with diversion elements alternating with the heat exchange blocks, Fig. 4 (not shown), said blocks being formed with truncated conical recesses in the upper and lower surfaces, the channels of the block being at an angle to the axis, those in the diversion elements being parallel to said axis. In this embodiment heat, exchange also takes place due to counterflow in adjacent parallel channels. Square cross-section blocks may be used in a similar manner, Fig. 6 (not shown).
