Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A method of recovering CO-rich waste gas generated in the operation of an oxygen top blowing converter comprises cleaning the waste gas, detecting the CO content and the flow rate of the cleaned gas as it is passed to a gas holder for blast furnace gas via a gas mixer, delivering air or an inert gas, e.g. nitrogen, to the mixer in amounts regulated in accordance with the detected CO content and flow rate, to dilute the cleaned gas, and measuring the calorific value of the gas in the mixer and further controlling the delivery of air or inert gas to the mixer in accordance with the detected calorific value. A valve in an outlet line from the converter directs CO-poor gas generated during the initial and final blowing periods of the converter to atmosphere. The calorific value-detecting device actuates a valve in an inert gas delivery line to the mixer to maintain a predetermined calorific value of the gas mixture.
