Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,055,494. Rocket motors. SOC. NATIONALE D'ETUDE ET DE CONSTRUCTION DE MOTEURS D'AVIATION. June 15, 1964 [June 18, 1963], No. 24694/64. Heading F3A. A rocket motor having a casing 1, Fig. 3, separated from the main propellant 9 (Fig. 1, not shown), by a protective liner 2 is provided with an auxiliary propellant 12 arranged in an annular groove 11 in the thickened end 3 of the liner adjacent the discharge nozzle. The auxiliary charge is such that it produces gases, which are cooler and less erosive than those from the main propellant. The discharge nozzle 6 is connected to the casing 1 by a sleeve 7, which is separated from a refractory throat member 5 by insulation 8. The propellant 12 may be 50 to 75% by weight ammonium nitrate with 50 to 25% of a binder such as a polysulphide polyisobutadine, polyurethane or vinyl polyester together with a plasticizer.
