Zusammenfassung: | 1,054,711. Extruding reinforced tubes. J. DORRIEN COPELY (PLASTICS) Ltd., J. D. COPELY and J. ELLIOTT. Feb. 23, 1965 [Nov. 23, 1963], No. 46331/63. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F2] A reinforced tube is formed by passing an accurately internally and externally dimensioned extruded tube A of thermoplastics material, such as polyvinyl chloride or nylon, through a sleeve B to receive at the downstream end thereof a helical winding of reinforcing wire E, and by passing tube A and wire E through an extrusion die H to receive a covering of thermoplastic material which embeds the wire E and provides the tube J with a uniformly dimensioned exterior. Wire E is supplied from a spool F mounted on a rotating frame and is evenly wound on tube A by being passed via a guide G and the concavely tapering end C of sleeve B. A further sleeve D supports and guides tube A when wound with wire E. Tube A may be initially moistened with a solvent to assist subsequent bonding of the covering thereto. |
