In the adjustable base for scaffolding of the parent Specification a tube 4 of the scaffolding abuts directly the pin 6 adjustable in one of a number of holes in the tube 3. Also a partition 12 protects the part of the tube bore containing the screw 14, this part being packed with grease. A set screw 9 clamps the tube 4.
