Fluid dyestuff composition

Fluid dye compositions comprise a suspension of at least one textile dye, an inert water-immiscible organic liquid and sufficient dispersing agent to cause emulsification of said organic liquid when the dye composition is added to water. The dyes may be water-soluble acid, direct or reactive dyes or water-insoluble vat or disperse dyes. The compositions may also contain NaCl, Na2SO4, urea, sugar, phosphates and metanilates. The organic liquids may be benzene, toluene, petroleum fractions, e.g. white spirit, or trichloroethane. The dispersing agent may be a cationic or anionic agent but is preferably non-ionic, e.g. a phenol/ethylene oxide condensate. The ingredients may be stirred or milled. Examples are given.
