Zusammenfassung:	The invention comprises colour couplers of the general formula wherein R is a phenyl, mono-, di- or tri-chlorophenyl group; R1 is a halogen atom, R2 is an acyl group containing an alkyl group of at least 10 carbon atoms and at least one carboxylic acid group, R3 is an alkoxy or an -NHCO-alkyl group in which the alkyl group contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R4 is hydrogen or a C1-C4 alkoxy group. They may be prepared by acylating compounds of formula to produce a compound of the formula which is reacted with a diazonium salt of the formula wherein R3 and R4 are as defined above. Many examples are given.
