Zusammenfassung: | 1,038,462. Non woven fabrics. B. ROMANIN. April 16, 1963 [April 16, 1962; Jan. 16,1963], No. 14739/63. Heading D1K. [Also in Division B5] A non woven textile structure comprises superposed sets of parallel straight 161 and undulating 141, 151 yarns, the amplitude H of the undulating yarns being less than the overall width of the structure and being at least half the wave length of undulation each undulating yarn crossing at least seven straight yarns and at least fourteen yarns of a set of undulating yarns of opposite phase. The yarns are fed in converging planes Fig. 1 (not shown) the undulations of yarns 14 and 15 being produced by combs 17, 18 which reciprocate perpendicularly to the yarn feed direction. The yarns which are coated with adhesive are pressed together by rollers 11, 12 in the zone T. The textile structure may be sandwiched between two plastics sheets as in Fig. 4 (not shown) the sheets being coated with adhesive by wetting means 25, 26 before contacting the textile structure between the rollers 11, 12. The laminate so formed may then be passed over a spiked roller 30 Fig. 7 (not shown) which pierces the film between each of the yarn interstices and removes gas bubbles, the laminate is then heated under pressure by a roller 34 and band 36 to weld both sides of the film together and seal the holes produced by the roller 30. Natural or synthetic yarns may be used along with suitable adhesives. The films may be of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, paper or rubber. |
