Sewer cleaning apparatus

A sewer cleaning apparatus comprises a selfpropelled vehicle having mounted thereon a high-pressure pump 6 driven by an auxiliary engine 7 a water tank 3 to which the inlet of the pump is connected and a hose having a traction nozzle on a hose reel 30 to which the outlet of the pump is connected, the outlet also being connected through a pressure relief valve back to the tank 3. The hose reel 30 is driven by an hydraulic motor 31 which is supplied with fluid from a tank 33 and pump 32 assembly, the pump 32 being itself driven by belts from the shaft of the high pressure pump 6. The controls for the two pumps are arranged on a control panel 42. A manually operated hose reel 51 is also provided, the hose of which is fed from a tapping from the main water delivery pipe 26. This hose terminates in a spray gun and incorporates a quick shut-off control valve and is used for cleaning the manhole of the sewer concerned.
