In a control pedal arrangement for a driver standing in a cross-country vehicle, the pedal includes two arms 2, 3 which extend above the level of cross-pieces 11, 11a supporting the driver's foot in order to prevent the foot slipping sideways from the pedal, a pivot shaft 4 for the pedal acts as an abutment for the front 7 of the heel 8 on the driver's shoe, and a frame member 10 forms an abutment for the rear 9 of the heel 8. A front portion 23 connecting the arms 2, 3 acts as an additional abutment to facilitate positioning the foot on the pedal. Bearings 5, 6 supporting the arms 2, 3 on the shaft 4 each comprise a plate 18 (Fig. 2, not shown) bent about the shaft and retained by a screw 22 extending through a spacer sleeve 21. |
