Device for the storage of bobbins in automatic bobbin machines

[Also in Division B8] A carrier, for conveying full bobbins from a winding machine to a storage tray 26 below, comprises a frame 2 in which a shoot member 3 is mounted by means of rods 7 which are fixed to the frame, and which extend through vertical slots 6 in member 3 such that when the rods are at the top of the slots bobbins are prevented from passing through openings 4, but when the rods are at the bottom of the slots-i.e. when the carrier has been lowered into the tray so that member 3 is resting on the bottom, or on bobbins 31 thereonthe bobbins may fall out of the carrier. The frame is supported by chain 13 connected to a shaft 18, Fig. 1 (not shown), which is rotated first in one direction and then in the other-to lower the carrier to empty the bobbins into the tray and then to raise it-by a toothed segment reciprocated by a dog pin on an axle. The axle is driven by a motor of the winding machine through a clutch actuated when the bobbins have been wound. The carrier is guided above the tray by rods 28 entering guide holes 27, and inside the tray by rails on the side of the frame.
