[Also in Division F2] A coupling for tubes 1, 2 comprises peripheral sloping flanges 3, 4 which when brought together define a V-channel opening outwards and a clamping split ring 6 of V-section directed inwards which clamps around the flanges 3, 4. A packing ring 5 of O-section is interposed between the flanges 3, 4 of one leg of the V-section of the ring 6 may be shorter than the other to permit release of one tube from the ring but not the other when the ring is loosened. The ring 6 is clamped by a cam device or, as shown, by a screw device 9-11 and may be hinged at a point diametrically opposite the split region or may comprise two halves hooked or otherwise secured together at one end.
