Procédé de fabrication d'un volant de direction (1) comprenant une armature (10), un habillage (20) formé d'un corps (21), surmoulé sur l'armature (10), et d'au moins un insert (27), ledit procédé comprenant des étapes visant à : - ménager au moins un logement (22) dans l'habillage (20), et - produire ledit insert (27) de sorte qu'un assemblage de l'insert (27) avec le corps (21) de l'habillage permette de recouvrir au moins partiellement le logement (22), caractérisé en ce que ledit insert (27) est obtenu d'un seul tenant avec le corps (21) de l'habillage.
