Zusammenfassung:The present invention concerns a method for the metathesis of an olefin or olefins and, more specifically, of a fatty acid or fatty acids comprising at least one unsaturation. The method according to the invention comprises bringing said fatty acid into contact with a metathesis catalyst, in which the fatty acid is treated by a sorbent before being brought into contact with the metathesis catalyst, the sorbent having a pH lower than or equal to 7.5 and comprising at least 50% by weight of SiO2 and at least 5% by weight of Al2O3, the weight percentages being given relative to the total weight of sorbent.
