Zusammenfassung:	The method involves providing a remote controller with an interface that detects amplitude (102) or speed of displacement of a user's finger. A state of equipment is changed with another amplitude depending on the detected amplitude and amplitude ratio that is higher than a predetermined amplification threshold value when a long piloting condition is met (110). The equipment state is changed with the latter amplitude and performance energy ratio that is lower than or equal to the threshold value when the long piloting condition is not met. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a remote control device (2) a home automation installation.
