The invention provides an anti-theft device of the collar type comprising a flexible line (12) composed of reinforcing elements (26, 28) embedded in a thickness of elastomer material (24), said reinforcing elements (26, 28) being arranged in the elastomer material (24) so as to confer to said flexible line flexibility and overall cut resistance. The invention is characterized by the fact that at least some of said reinforcing elements (26, 28) are spaced from each other, so that they are totally encompassed by the elastomer material (24).
