The seat has a backrest (20) including a retraction unit for retracting the backrest from a normal position toward a retracted position of the backrest. A base (10) includes another retraction unit for independently retracting the base from a normal position toward a retracted position of the base when the backrest is in the retracted position. The retracted position of the base is arranged above the retracted position of the backrest. The latter retraction unit is formed as a pad (11) connected to the base by lateral walls passing on two sides of the backrest during retraction of the base.
