The vehicle has a retractable seat including a base (1) movable with respect to a chassis of the vehicle. The seat has a backrest (3) and a bottom (4) that are carried by the base. The bottom has an upper face receiving an occupant of the seat, and the backrest has a front face (3a) that receives the occupant of the seat. The base is pivotably mounted on a main swivel axle (Y0) that is fixed to the chassis of the vehicle and situated at the rear of the seat. The backrest is displaced towards the top with respect to a nominal utilization position, in storage position of the seat.
